VIRAL FOOTAGE of two cats being driven completely crazy by ‘alien’ meows has emerged

It isn’t just humans that find the sound of auto-tuned voices unnatural and disturbing.

The technology, which has been used to tidy up the caterwauling of second-rate singers for years now, can be almost impossible to detect when used carefully – or strange and robotic when pushed too far.

This all-too-short video from YouTube user Hosea Baker shows that cats, too can be unsettled by computer-corrected voices.

He played his two cats Zoe and Scarlett a video of a cat with the audio run through autotune and…not to put too fine a point on it…they freaked right out.

SINGER: The cat responsible for the eerie singing was appropriately named Elton. (Pic: YouTube)

At one point they look to be in danger of trashing Hosea’s laptop as they try to work out where this alien cat is hiding and what on earth it’s saying to them.

The original source of the bizarre autotune miaowing is a Bengal cat named Elton. The original clip was originally uploaded by Joaquin Baldwin, a feature animation layout artist at Disney., who explains why he did it. Sort of: “Autotuned the cat because he won’t shut up in the mornings. I don’t know how this helps but I did it anyway.”
